The National Fibromyalgia Association will be presenting Ambassador L. Paul Bremer III and his wife, Frances Winfield Bremer, as the new spokespersons to launch "Access to Fibromyalgia Care," a public education campaign to raise awareness of fibromyalgia, and its impact on the family and the health care system. The Bremers are also the featured cover story of the newest issue of Fibromyalgia AWARE, the NFA's quarterly magazine (www.FMaware.org)
WHAT:
Press Conference with Ambassador L. Paul Bremer III and wife, Frances Bremer, new spokespersons for the National Fibromyalgia Association
WHY:
Fibromyalgia is a chronic pain disorder that affects 6 to 10 million Americans, yet recent legislation in health care reforms continue to prevent people with fibromyalgia from gaining access to much needed medical services and benefits. Family members and other caregivers play an important role in the treatment of the person with fibromyalgia, yet they are not well informed on how best to care for their loved one. This campaign is designed to help raise awareness of fibromyalgia, and advocate for better access to health care for people with FM.
