The National Fibromyalgia Association has announced its 2009 National Fibromyalgia Awareness Campaign, “Fibromyalgia Hurts Everyone,” and its 2nd Annual Walk of FAME in Orange County, California. Patients and those who support them can take part in Awareness Day activities in a variety of ways:
- If you live in the Orange County area, or plan to be in Southern California on May 2, 2009, take part in the Second Annual Walk of FAME.
- If you’re not able to make it to the Walk of FAME, you can still take part as a virtual walker.
- Organize and host your own Walk of FAME in your area.
- Host a different type of awareness event in your area, such as a health fair.
- Write to your local representatives requesting they release a proclamation declaring May 12 Fibromyalgia Awareness Day in your area.
- Contact your local media to share your story and raise FM awareness.
