1. Listen live on May 12 for an on-site broadcast of Awareness Day activities at the California State Capitol, beginning at 7 p.m. (PST). Visit BlogTalkRadio at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/fibromyalgia. Video footage will be posted later in the week at www.youtube.com/fmaware
Click here for a flyer on the day’s activities.
2. There’s still time to form a Walk of FAME team in your area. Awareness Day events will be occurring throughout the month of May. Simply select a time and place to walk, register your team on the NFA’s website and ask two or more friends or family members to join you! (T-shirts should be ordered two weeks prior to your event to allow for shipping and handling.) Click here for more information on the Walk of FAME and other Awareness Day opportunities.
3. On May 12, Sirena Dufault will complete the final stretch of her 800-mile Fibromyalgia Awareness Hike. Sirena, who was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 1998, began hiking the Arizona Trail in February 2008. The 35-year-old has hiked most of the trail solo in one- to five-day segments, but on May 12 she will complete the final eight miles of the trail with a group of supporters. Proceeds raised from the hike will be donated to the NFA. Click here to see Sirena’s blog, pictures and videos.
