I was diagnosed with Fibro in 2005 , a few months after a car accident. I broke my ankle and have a plate in it since 2005. My pcp refered me to a rheumatologist and I’ve been seeing her since 2005. I am now on Tramadol, nabutome, Gabapentin and amitriplin. Flares up cone and go and I’m able to manage but for 4 months now I’ve had severe pain in my legs and it’s very difficult to walk. I have tried the 3 usual fibro meds and I could not tolerate any of them. Also had a steroid injection on my lower back that did nothing to relief my lower back pain. This was done by a pain management doctor. Went back to see him today and I find my self even more fasutrated with who can best help me manage my pain. I just joined this group in hopes that I could learn about what else can be done to relieve pain.I’ve always been a very active person even with after fibro but this new pain in my legs and difficulty walking is really stopping me dead on my tracks.Anyone having this problem .. leg pain and can’t walk?
Do you also have neuropathy? My fibromyalgia pain was always in my legs more than anywhere else too and I developed what i thought was “restless leg syndrome.” As it turned out, I had “Neuropathy,” I now take myrapex for that issue and it helps. I am also on Cymbalta (which i completely swear by.) Lyraca and gabapentin are garbage but Cymbalta is amazing for fibromyalgia. I have tried so many different things, lexapro, wellbutrin, amatriptyline, nortriptyline and the list goes in. Cymbalta is the only one that worked for me.
What dose of Cymbalta did you find to help your pain the most? My dose is 40 mg and my pain has gotten worse lately. I am thinking about increasing to 60 mg, but the only thing I don’t like about Cymbalta is the “emotional blunting”. I wonder if that would get worse if I increased my dose.
I couldn’t tolerate Cymbalta.. sensitive stomach and it really didn’t help with pain.
Has anyone been prescribed LDN for fibromyalgia? I’ve read that it’s presc by some doctors but it’s hard to find doctors that will. LDN is a low dose naproxen medication.
YES! I have been having this same issue. It really IS frustrating, especially when you’ve always been active, and now just can’t be (or even walk, get groceries, do laundry, etc.). This is how I wandered into this website; looking for research that could answer some questions. Sadly, I have no answers, just wanted to let you know that you aren’t the only one. #Meg

My left leg has been very painful for a few months. Then, the pain also started across my lower back. I have been going to physical therapy for almost 2 months but the pain gets better then worse again. Did you ever get relief from your leg pain? If so, what helped you?
Hi Vicki.. sorry for late reply. I have not had any relief from my leg pain. Pain is so severe now I can only stand and walk with a walker. Walking is extremely painful. My osteoarthritis is really bad and I have developed hip pain . I’ve been to pain management doctors and orthopedic doctors and still no one can help me. My big question is.. could all these pains be from fibromyalgia or should each individual issues be addressed separately? I’m so confused as to what doctor can help me.
