By: Jessica Sanchez,

In 2005 I was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome, hospitalization for 2 weeks. Took 3 months to finally be able to walk on my own. I had 2 relapses between 2005-2012. In 2012 I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and peripheral neuropathy. It took 6 years and several doctors to get my diagnosis. From 2013-2019 I’ve had 4 relapses from Guillain-Barre syndrome. In October 2019 due to compromised immune system a virus hit my peripheral nervous system and immune system.

I was I unable to walk on my own, slurred speech and severe pain to extremities. At this moment I suffer with chronic pain 24/7 from fibromyalgia, neuropathy and Right sacral iliac joint pain from a work injury. I was told that since I have constant pain to my Right joint this causes fibromyalgia to flare constantly as well as my neuropathy. I’m receiving treatment but this does not control my pain. Since October’s relapse I now suffer migraines, fibromyalgia and neuropathy has worsen. My skin feels like I have a bad sun burn. I have to wear a soft long sleeve shirts. It’s summer and I live in Texas this is not an option for me.
