Stop the Pain

By: Paula Ehmer

In my 40’s I started to experience headaches and muscle spasms in my sides that would take my breath away and I would get close to blacking out. I finally went to the Rheumatologist and my chief complaint was that I felt “old” at 48. The Doctor explained that he believed my pain was not arthritic, but possibly fibromyalgia related. He examined me by pressing his thumb into my skin and having me relate the level of pain. He tested 18 points on my body all of which brought immense pain.

all brought painHe shook his head and told me that I only needed to test positive to 11 of the 18 points for him to be able to diagnose me with Fibromyalgia. “You poor thing” he said, shaking his head. He counseled me to read “The China Study” a book that changed the way I ate (removing milk from cows from my diet) but it didn’t even begin to address the pain. I went on several different pharmaceuticals which are commonly prescribed only to return to tell the Doctor the next month, relating that I was still in pain.

Then, one visit, I met with the Doctor’s daughter, who is a Nurse Practitioner, and she recommended Medical Cannabis. She related that she did not have any experience with it to say if it worked or not, but at this point why not give it a try? Now at age 55, I had just been fired from my position, because the Fibro “brain fog” had kicked in and I was making a lot of mistakes.

I was also suffering from insomnia. I found a job posting for a “wellness coordinator” at a new Medical Cannabis Dispensary. I was fortunate to work for a company that supported training and I learned everything there was to learn about cannabis. I got my license to purchase and have never looked back. I have literally helped thousands of people with Fibromyalgia using CBD HEMP (Zero THC), and Medical Cannabis. As a person suffering from Fibro, I have changed my life, as well as the lives of many people. I now work exclusively with CBD, and CBD Formulas with ZERO THC. You don’t have to get “high” to get relief from Fibromyalgia and Insomnia.
